Flash Flood Warning

Yes, there’s been a lot of rain. Yes, it’s pretty wet out there.
But yes, we’re okay.
Although it did take me over an hour to get home from work this afternoon, a trip that normally takes less than fifteen minutes.
Because the interstate is closed for like thirty miles. Crazy.
Also things like this have been happening:
Holy crap!! Glad you’re alright tho. Louisiana eh…that’s our next big US trip. Louisiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama. Mostly for the food. And history 😉
We should meet up!
Yes! 2017…fingers crossed!
Hi April,
Glad you are ok- The road is awful- how did it happen – and is it the melting snows that is causing so much rain ?
Susie
Just bad weather. All the water flushed the ground from under the road and it collapsed.
Goes to say a lot about the roads and how they were constructed I guess- like the ones in my home country- each year, tonnes of money is spent on maintaining roads and making them even better than new, only to have them be washed away with the first monsoon- potholes are the rule of the day there. The reason, as always, corrupt politicians, who eat up the money for road maintenance and get repairs done by less competent teams with less than appropriate material.
Is it similar in the US ?
Lol, we spend little on roads in Louisiana, and it shows. And we are also known for our corrupt politicians. Glad to be rid of Bobby Jindal.
Was Bobby Jindal from Louisiana – I thought he was from Texas ? Was he corrupt too ?
Oh no, he’s ours alright. And we may be closing schools and hospitals this year because he spent money that should have been theirs.
Yikes! I know I’m really late but so glad you’re okay!
